Steve Rudd, Pastor or Leader of a Church of Christ somewhere in Canada hosts a website called www.bible.ca. This website runs down a lot of denominations by misquotes and it is unknown to me if they have permission to quote alot of the material that they do.

For instance they have footage from Benny Hinn Crusades and it is unknown if they have the rights to use it on their site. Also ,I have had email correspondence from Steve Rudd in the past where he called me ignorant and his hatred shined through.

I never knew that this website was The Church of Christ until I ran a domain checker on it. They never mentioned this that I know of. I would like to advise you all to avoid Steve Rudd's hate filled website. Also, If you have any correspondence with them, ask them if they have written permission to quote copyrighted material on their site. I most certainly would like to see it if they do. Thank you.

Creator Exists and Hates Religion

AUTHOR: Lyle - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, September 02, 2023

First of all where did the Bible come from. It came from parts of the Sumatran scripts. The Roman’s made up the concept to control people as the population was getting to large to monitor. Sort of an old time CCTV system of the time. I am a firm believer in a creator but I have recently lost faith in Jesus Christ as I have been suffering with Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome for several months and have been praying continuously to be cured. I have been to three doctors none have been able to help. So I trust that Jesus the healer and great physician could easily correct this issue. Read the New Testament Jesus says anything you ask in my name will be given to you. While I have been praying constantly for over 6 months and no change. I have friends and my barber also praying for me. I did not ask them they offered too. I am not healed. As a result of this issue I can not work. or drive or sit down. Between the COVID-19 con and the AstraZeneca Vaccine that I believe caused this illness it has shut down my company of 21 years. If something does not happen soon I could loose my home and everything I own, and that would not be so bad if I had somewhere to go but my parents as well as my wifes parents and my aunts and uncles have all passed away. This is Canada you can survive in the summer on the street you will die in the winter. So tell me where is Jesus when I need him more then ever in my entire life. I have been baptized and I consider myself to be a Christian.

I regret my earlier comment

AUTHOR: Gregory - ()

POSTED: Friday, February 21, 2014

I wrote the comment titled "Hate-filled Dishonest Sophist" above. I have come to regret doing so, as I wrote it in the heat of anger a few years ago, and it was unjust of me to have done so.  I repent of having done so--especially for calling Mr. Rudd hateful.  In our recent interactions (during which he reminded me of this unfortunate lapse of judgement on my part), he has been very gracious, and the opposite of hateful.

While I cannot recommend his ministry, church, or website, because as a Catholic I believe that it does, indeed, erroneously interpret scripture and misrepresents the Catholic Church, I do not believe that Mr. Rudd does so in order to purposefully deceive others, but that he himself truly believes the claims that he makes.

Whether Rudd should or should not be "trusted as a qualified expositor of Scripture, nor as a morally or intellectually honest Christian leader" (as I wrote in my previous comment) is a decision each inquirer must make for him or herself. Again, as a Catholic, I cannot endorse Mr. Rudd's Church of Christ-based exposition of Scripture, but his moral character is not mine to judge, and I was wrong to have done so.

As such, I ask anyone who comes across this page to disregard my own earlier claim about Mr. Rudd. If interested, persons may follow up with me directly regarding this situation by visiting barqueofpeter.blogspot.ca/2006/11/does-catholic-doctrine-contradict.html and leaving a comment.

Hate-filled dishonest sophist.

AUTHOR: Gregory - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, July 04, 2011

I host a Catholic apologetics blog (a blog which defends Catholic teaching).  It was due to this enterprise that I first encountered Steve Rudd and bible.ca, when a reader suggested I write a response to a series of accusations which Mr. Rudd makes against the Catholic Church and its teachings.  Since that time, I have actually met Mr. Rudd face-to-face (he lives in my city, Hamilton, Ontario) and challenged him to debate me publicly about his claims regarding the Catholic Church and the Bible, which he abruptly refused, since I was not a priest, and therefore did not rate in his eyes, despite the fact that one of his criticisms of the Catholic Church is that the average layperson (such as myself) is not willing to defend his faith.  When I showed up willing to do just that, I was hypocritically blackballed by him.

I wrote a lengthly rebuttal to his anti-Catholic accusations at my blog, Barque of Peter (search "Steve Rudd"), demonstrating that his criticisms of Catholic Doctrine are either unfounded, or at best misunderstandings, while at worse they are outright lies.  I emailed him the response to offer a chance for rebuttal, and heard nothing from him.

Recently, I had recommended the articles to a friend who was inquiring about the Catholic faith, and reviewing my articles, I noticed several typographical errors.  In editing my articles, I returned to bible.ca and discovered that he had adapted his original article in a most disingenuous way, so as to make it look as though he had already anticipated several of my rebuttals to it, and therefore undercutting the force of my response.  He did not provide me the same courtesy of notification which I offered to him outright, but rather led his readers to believe that his article was as originally published.

In sum, as a self-proclaimed teacher of the Christian faith, Steve Rudd engages in disingenuous, deceitful tactics in order to prove his understanding of the Scriptures correct, while attacking groups that don't believe in him.  His arguments boil down to sophistries: cleverly devised, but knowingly false arguments aimed at confusing and misleading his readers.  And yes, they are knowingly false arguments, because I myself cited official teachings of the Catholic Church in demonstrating that his claims were not accurately depicting Catholic teaching.  When he altered his article, he nevertheless left the claims themselves the same, only rewording his defence of them to take into account my counter-replies.

Rudd should not be trusted as a qualified expositor of Scripture, nor as a morally or intellectually honest Christian leader.

Steve Rudd, a child of God

AUTHOR: Chaly - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 21, 2010

First of all, the church of Christ is not a cult! It is the only church you can read about in the bible. Second, although I do not know him, I have some of his written material, and of course, have visited his website. Calling someone ignorant of the scriptures is not disparaging that person. The church Christ died for (His bride) wears His name, obeys His will, and stands as as beacon guiding all those who "..if you love me, you will keep my commandments." The world doesn't want to keep His commandments; the world honors sin, their (humans) own will, and most do not care what His commandments are. Thank God for men like Steve Rudd who will proclaim it and defend it as He commanded. Read your bible, Robert. Rae Franks, Magnolia, TX.

Misquotes and rebuttal of Robert from Waldron AR

AUTHOR: Hal - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 22, 2010

Steve Rudd's website, like any and all other websites, have the legal right to reproduce and use any information readily available on the world wide web, especially if it is being used in an "educational context," which is the right that universities (students and faculty) use when they document their sources. Much of the information available on Mr. Rudd's website is in the public domain (and such material is thus not copyrightable) or is "common knowledge" (which is also uncopyrightable). So far as I know, Mr. Rudd strives to credit his sources whenever possible. Furthermore, what Mr. Waldron claims to be "hate" is no more than "book, chapter, and verse" (Bible evidence of Mr. Rudd's being correct)--in this case, his objection reflects a serious problem with what God has said and not with what Mr. Rudd has written. Respectfully, Hal Snyder, Newport, NC
