Chompie's Restaurant Deli, Bakery filthy disgusting history health department violations Chandler, Glendale, Scottsdale Arizona

Chompie's Restaurant, Deli, and Bakery is a filthy filthy place according to more than one employee.  Here is our opinion on the Chompies restaurants, deplorable.

My husband and I eat at the different Chompie’s Restaurant’s in the valley for the past 35 years. The employees know us as regulars.  We love the original owners.

This one time, the waitress served us bad white-fish salad. She was told by the kitchen it was freshly made today.  You could clearly see it was all dried out in the photo below. It did not taste right. My husband went over to take a photo from where they have the white-fish salad in the Deli department. See this photo below. Is this something they should be serving their customers!?

This White Fish Salad is all crusty / spoiled.

The above photo shows this is not covered and it’s all dried out!.. that’s fish! That’s spoiled! Consuming food that has been left out for an extended period of time can lead to food poisoning, which can cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting and in an older person, this could even lead to death in my opinion. Most people that eat at Chompie’s are seniors!

In the other photos, you can clearly see in the deli case where they have all the fish, meats and other items, nothing is covered. They just let it sit there and dry out.  

I asked the lady behind the counter about why these items are not covered, she went and asked a manager, and the Manager told her  “ this is the way we always do it, there is no time to keep covering the food.”  What does he mean by there is no time to cover the food!?  This has to be a health code violation.  

Since the original owners have retired and there is some new partner or investor to these locations we are told, things have gotten worse. Chompies has always had a bad reputation with the health department. I know, anyone reading this is going to say, then why do we go to Chompies. Over all, the food is great! The employees are lazy. What the F, they don’t have time?!!!

We do love the people that work at Chompies, they are all great! 

See below Photos on how how everything in the entire deli is not covered! It only takes 1 hour for the food to start drying out and become unhealthy to eat. It would be so easy to just cover the food!   They make clear plastic covers to go over these treys. Or put some clear scran wrap over these. I would just take a few seconds to remove it when needed and to just slip back the scran wrap over the trey of food.  This is absolutely disgusting.

Bacteria is spreading the food is getting spoiled! ..it’s so simple to just cover them!

Its so simple to just cover them with some saran plastic wrap.
