Sergeants towing removed my car from a parking place that was directly next to a business that I was a patron of at 3am, which is well beyond any time that would be considered a threat to other business at the time. The business that  i visited was called Potato Champion. They serve french fries, at 3am. No one who is in the region near to Potato Champion is doing anything but patronizing this business. And yet, Sergeants is PATROLLING, like nasty disgusting perverts, for a car that is parked innocently and yes of course also against their poorly displayed signage. They are horrible people, all of them, HORRIBLE.

#2 Consumer Comment

You trespassed

AUTHOR: coast - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, October 30, 2011

Ken made a valid point when he said, "after a period of time, courts can rule that they implicity gave permission for others to use it" because the property owner may be held liable for injuries received on their property by people they should have discouraged from being there. Towing discourages trespassing. You trespassed when you parked there.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Did you have permission to park at this business that was "directly next to a business you were a patron of?"

"Sergeants towing removed my car from a parking place that was directly next to a business that I was a patron of.."

Usually on ROR, people towed for doing this complain the signs were hard to read, weren't on EVERY parking space, weren't lighted and the lot wasn't full either.

At any rate, the business has a right to protect their property 24/7 for THEIR customers.

You gambled they wouldn't notice and lost.

I don't think they're horrible, you were wrong and won't admit it.

If businesses don't pro-actively protect their property, after a period of time, courts can rule that they implicity gave permission for others to use it and they've lost control of their OWN property.

Strange, but true.
